RULES & ELIGIBILITY
The Union of Excellence International Film Awards (UNOFEX Awards) is a semi annual film competition recognizing excellence in filmmaking worldwide. Before submitting your film, please read carefully the rules eligibility listed on this site.
RULES AND ELIGIBILITY

Competition is open to U.S. and International entries.

Feature films are 40 minutes in length or longer. Short films are under 40 minutes in length

Films not in the English language must be subtitled in English.

Entries must not have premiered to the public before January 1, 2019. If your work was completed before 2019, please contact us before submitting.

Multiple entries are allowed for each filmmaker and each entry may be entered in multiple categories.

UNOFEX employees, including seasonal and event staff, board members, sponsors, and their immediate families, are not eligible to submit in any category to this competition.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you are submitting a rough cut and update your submission later, we cannot guarantee that the updated version will be reviewed.
EVALUATION AND SELECTION CRITERIA
Evaluation criteria for an UNOFEX Awards nomination is different for each category. All nominations will be evaluated by an independent Jury comprised of three (3) to four (4) jury members. The Jury will use specific criteria in their decision-making.
SUPPORTIVE MATERIAL
SCREENERS - Secure online screener links are the previewing method. Entries can also be submitted for pre-screening on Vimeo or YouTube link. If you use a secured link, you are required to keep us updated with passwords or your film may be rejected. No hard copies will be accepted for entries. If you need to submit in another format, please contact info@unionofexcellence.com to make arrangements.
INFORMATION - Provide concise loglines, synopsis, artist statement/cover letters, behind-the-scene photos, (and trailers for feature films) etc.

This Year's 2020 edition is free of charge to support filmmakers worldwide during the Coronavirus outbreak

3-Line Synopsis (may be used for promotional material and website)

Students: Include proof of student status at the time of production. (Copy of student ID or transcript.)

Accepted entries must submit at least one digital, horizontal 300dpi still photo from the film and at least one web-ready still at 72dpi and 560x315 pixels.

Notification of acceptance status is scheduled to be given to all entrants on July 31, 2020.
DISCLAIMER
By submitting to this competition, you hereby grant the UNOFEX LLC permission to screen and otherwise use the aforementioned title (the “Work”) in connection with the 2020 UNOFEX International Film Awards. You represent and warrant that you have all the rights in and to the Work and/or you have the authority to grant UNOFEX the rights to screen and otherwise use the Work. Your film awards acceptance also grants UNOFEX permission to use stills and excerpts from the Work for promotional and publicity use.
Should unforeseen events alter the format of the UNOFEX Awards, we will contact and inform filmmakers in selection of how such events may affect and change the nature of their status.
