BIOGRAPHY
Passionate about Arts, Virginie de Araujo-Recchia assiduously followed courses in Art History and Literature. At the same time, her taste for foreign cultures and justice led her to study International law.
She obtained a master's degree in European and International law, followed by a post-graduate diploma (DESS) in International commercial law at the Paris Descartes University, which led her to do an internship in 2001 at the United Nations Information Centre Paris.
Virginie de Araujo-Recchia then joined the international law firm Clifford Chance in 2002, where she practiced as a lawyer in various departments and then finally joined the tax department.
She also attended courses at the Institute of Judicial Studies and then at the Professional Training School of the Bars of the Paris Court of Appeal, in order to prepare for the Paris Bar exam.
She obtained her Certificate of Qualification as a Lawyer in 2005 and was sworn in 2006.
In 2006, she joined another international Law firm, Ernst & Young (one of the "Big Four"), to practice in several specialized Tax law departments.
Looking for a Law firm specifically oriented in Art law, she joined in 2009 a Parisian Law firm, Cabinet P.B., specialized in tax law and intellectual property law.
She then took care of Artists, Art galleries and Sportsmen.
In 2014, Virginie de Araujo-Recchia founded her own Law firm specialized in tax law and intellectual property law and became a member of the American Bar Association.
Its clientele is international and its activity is deliberately oriented towards Arts and Entertainment law.
She advises Art collectors, Artists, Galleries, Authors, screenwriters, Film technicians, producers, distributors and other structures in the field of Arts in general.
In 2019, Virginie de Araujo-Recchia also became an Agent, in order to promote Artists and Authors and she joined the French Art & Law Institute as a member.
As an Arts & Entertainment Attorney, Virginie de Araujo-Recchia became a member of the Union of Excellence (New York - Monaco - Paris) in 2020.
